Tiptoeing Through the Tulips

On Sunday I went to a park near my house to go walking.  Every year they plant these beautiful tulips and every year I forget my camera.  This year I remembered!

  1. Lynne: Yeah they are! My favorite time of year for sure.

pamajama: I’m in Utah. Every year there is a tulip festival about a half hour from where I live. I’ve never gone to that one. I say why bother when this park is right behind my apartment and it’s free!

2lazydogs: Holland indeed! Actually the original owners of the land (way back in the day) settled from Holland. The grandkids have sold the land to the town for the park. The city reconstructed the park to look a lot like the original property – hence the large tulip garden. The cabin house in the background of one of the pics is a replica of the house that the family lived in. I hang out here almost daily.

  2. Exactly where is this park… AF? Somewhere in Orem? I’ve never been there, which is odd. Your photos are FANTASTIC! Maybe the 3 of us should go into a photography business together.

  3. Pammy Girl: It’s right down the street by Walmart in Orem going south. The park didn’t exist when you lived here, hence why you’ve never been. Maybe we should. You and Lynne could take the pics and photoshop them and I could scan/digitize them in mass quanitity – especially any negatives or slides. Hmm, something to think about…

Citizen D: Thank you! I wish I could take credit for the lovely view but it was just there. I was surprised how well they all turned out b/c I was talking on the phone at the same time and snapping away with one hand. My camera isn’t very fancy and it was so bright out I couldn’t see the images until I came home and uploaded them on my computer. Sometimes you just luck out.

  4. gibsondog & Sarah: Thank you so much! I’m not sure they’re good enough for a magazine. Although, I might have to look into that if it means getting paid…

  5. leafprobably: The flowers really were beautiful. The pics don’t do them justice. I have a co-worker that’s been working in New Zealand for the past few months and some of the pics he emails are gorgeous!

  6. That is so funny that you live right by this park. We have lots of memories there, as you can probably tell from my picks. This is the park where Mark first met my family, and many b-day parties. My family is there a lot, (the kids love the huge dangerous swing thingy). We even have a picture of the tulips on our wall. Keep an eye out for my family, you have probably seen them there! Small small world, really great park.
